This walk, as good as it was, in weather memorable for it's biting cold, will unfortunately only now be remembered for the fact that Tex found his missing red hiking sock in the boot of my car before we set off. He emitted a squeal of delight and proceeded to dance a small but embarrassing jig around the thankfully empty car park as he pulled his sock from beneath a water bottle in the corner of my boot. He'd spent the previous week in the doldrums bemoaning the loss of his most long-lived piece of walking equipment and now rapidly shelved the plan he'd formed to frame the other sock and mount it on his wall. Expect to see more pictures of his red socks in future.
